The One Concept Method, and Why I’m Obsessed
Once upon a time, I used to offer 6-10 (yes, OMG) options for logos to my clients. These options were often based on market trends, design trends, and a random assortment of vibes plucked from Pinterest. Invariably, my clients would pick the logo I hastily threw together at the last minute just to meet the option-quota (designers, who else has this happened to?). I’d be bummed, and the chosen logo would often be less than stellar. I wasn’t happy, and whether they knew it or not, my clients weren’t getting the product they needed to succeed.
So, I revised and evolved my process into something called the One Concept Method, and now I offer a single design to my clients. Why does this work? Let me break it down for you.
1. solid as a rock
I go ham on the "why" behind the business, diving deep into what makes it tick. This information shapes the strategy behind my designs. It’s not about chasing trends (which fade quickly) but instead about anchoring the design in brand values, customer profiling, and the heart and soul of each individual connected to the business. This approach ensures the design is intentional, directed, and 100% guaranteed to be a total banger.
2. invest in success
Instead of churning out a bunch of half-baked ideas, I pour all my energy and creativity into crafting that one perfect logo. This focus allows me to deliver a design that truly represents the brand, rather than a smorgasbord of options that dilute the vision. Time is a precious resource, and the One Concept Method respects that for both me and my clients.
3. trust me, I’m a designer
You’re paying me for this! This is my job – my expertise, my passion, my profession. You wouldn’t tell a chef how to cook every dish on the menu or ask a surgeon which scalpel to use for an operation. As the creative director, it’s my responsibility to make the final design decision. My clients hire me for my vision and expertise, and I take that role seriously.
in Conclusion: Less Is More!
When you hire me, you’re hiring a professional to create your brand’s look. You do what you do best, and leave the design to me. The One Concept Method ensures you get a logo and brand that’s not just another design, but the perfect design – one that embodies your brand’s essence and sets you up for success.
Less truly is more. By focusing on one concept, we can create a brand identity that’s stronger, more cohesive, and more impactful. Trust the process, and let’s create something amazing together.
